Maintenance / Handyperson

About the Role

Our client is a not-for-profit, community organization that provides a range of services, such as residential care and independent living services to senior members of the community. Within this role you will be required to assist with the day-to-day repairs and maintenance within the community village whether that be painting of the activities room, to plastering a new residential room. Other maintenance tasks may include the upkeep of grounds and gardens; however, this isn't the main role but willingness to help in other areas when needed will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the team in the day-to day maintenance requirements
• Keeping up to date records on the repair and maintenance
• Completing tasks where possible within the timeframe once the request is received
• Reporting back on the completion, or delay of any task
• Liaising with supervisors/managers regarding all work

Skills and Experience

• Must have previous experience as a maintenance worker/handyman
• Proven ability to manage and complete jobs in a set time frame with limited supervision
• Experience in working with electrical, plumbing and carpentry tools and equipment
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have a white card

• Pre-employment medical screening including urine drug & alcohol test
