Snowy Monaro Regional Council is looking to employ a Labourer Water & Wastewater to support the delivery of water and wastewater services and projects undertaken across the region, ensuring delivery of outputs in an efficient, effective and safe manner.

This vacancy is offered in a permanent full-time capacity, 38 hours per week, located in Jindabyne. This position would be suited to a motivated, hands-on and hardworking individual who can support the end-to-end operations of the regions water and watewater systems.

Key Responsibilities

The Labourer Water & Wastewater will report into the Team Leader WWW Civil Maintenance Snowy. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance and operation of Council's water and wastewater systems within the Snowy Monaro Regional Council area,
  • Be available for weekend and on-call rosters and be available to respond to emergency call-outs when required
  • Maintain Records as required in both the electronic and paper environment,
  • Ensure that Council's plant and equipment is used and maintained to a satisfactory standard
  • Contribute to the performance of Council: demonstrate professional conduct, make the best use of knowledge, experience and skills and be accountable for own decisions and actions
  • Contribute to a safe workplace: comply with legislative and organisational requirements and be accountable for own decisions and actions

  • Current Construction Induction Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of hand tools
  • Demonstrated previous experience in the construction industry
  • A high level of physical fitness and previous labouring experience
  • Proven ability and willingness to work in a team
  • Ability to work as directed by Supervisor
